LG K10 (2017) ‘Made in India’ smartphone with SoS button launched for Rs. 13990

LG India has announced a ‘Make in India’ mid-ranged smartphone at an event in Delhi today. It is the LG K10 (2017) that comes in Titanium, Gold and Black colors. The phone comes with a free smart cover and unlimited downloads from Hungama for a period of 45 days but it will set you back by Rs. 13,990. The ‘Made in India’ LG smartphone also has a special Indian feature built-in, which is known as the Panic button. You can call the SoS 112 emergency number by pressing the home button thrice or by pressing the SoS option starting from the menu. The Indian government has made this feature mandatory from this year and most of the new smartphones launched this year onwards will have it.

Now coming to the hardware and software of the LG K10, it sports a 2800mAh battery under its hood but does not support fast charging. It has a 5.3-inch IPS In-Cell 2.5D Arc display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and a pixel density of 277 PPI. The K10 is being powered by a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with Mali-T860 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we get 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, respectively. The internal storage is on the lower side but you can always expand it up to 2TB externally by putting in a microSD card.

The LG K10 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box with LG UX on top. There is a 13 megapixel primary camera with LED flash at the back but the highlight of the phone is its 5 megapixel selfie camera with a 120-degree wide-angle lens. The body of K10 is made up of a metallic U-frame and it also comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back. It is a dual SIM (nano) phone, which is 7.9mm thick and weighs 142 grams.

In the connectivity department, the K10 (2017) features 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. The LG K10 might find a way into our best smartphones under 14000 segment in the near future.
