Samsung Galaxy Note8 was officially announced in New York last month. The premium flagship smartphone has been launched in India at an event in New Delhi today. It has been priced at Rs. 67,900 and will go on sale on September 21, 2023 from Amazon India, Samsung Shop as well as select offline retail stores. The device can be pre-ordered in India starting today in Midnight Black and Maple Gold colors. There will be a lot of introductory offers as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 rocks 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity, Always-on display. It comes with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels (Quad HD+) and the screen is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display has a pixel density of 522 PPI, aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 83.2%. The Note8 is powered by the Exynos 8895 octa-core processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU. We get 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Also, users can extend the memory up to 256GB by adding a microSD card.
Out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 runs on TouchWiz UI based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and it will certainly be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo OS in the near future. In the camera department, we get a dual rear camera setup - a 12 megapixel primary camera with Dual Pixel, LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, wide-angle lens and OIS along with another 12 megapixel secondary camera with telephoto lens, f/2.4 aperture, OIS, 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel secondary selfie camera with f/1.7 aperture and wide-angle lens. The Note8 supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano) and is also water and dust resistant (IP68 certified). The phone is made up of glass and metal. It is 8.6mm thick and weighs 195 grams.
The Samsung Note8 includes a lot of sensors including Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, Iris Sensor and Pressure Sensor. In the connectivity and networking department, it includes 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) VHT80 MU-MIMO, USB Type-C 3.1, GPS with GLONASS, NFC and MST. The Note8 packs in a 3300mAh battery under the hood with support for fast charging via both wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging.
Samsung has also kept the Smart Assistant named Bixby on the Note8, that was introduced with the Galaxy S8 and S8+. It offers personalized experience to improve the way people interact with their phones. According to the company, it is not only a voice assistant but an intuitive and comprehensive interface which will leverage contextual awareness to learn users’ habits and then respond accordingly. There is a dedicated Bixby hardware button.
