Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 with dual Leica lenses is a collector’s item

Huawei in partnership with premium-lifestyle brand Porsche Design has officially launched a limited edition Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 smartphone at an event in Germany. It packs in a 5.5-inch Quad HD display along with second-generation dual Leica lenses at the back. It is really a collector’s item as it costs a whopping €1395. Lets take a look into its features below.

Firstly, this limited edition Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 comes with seamless curved edges, has a graphite finish and lovely black color. It has 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. At the heart of the phone, we find an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 960 chipset clocked at 2.4 GHz along with IntelliSense i6 sensor hub and Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. It runs on the latest EMUI 5.0 based on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS. In the camera department, there are two Leica SUMMARIT lenses at the back - a 20 megapixel monochrome camera and a 12 megapixel RGB camera. It uses Huawei’s own ISP and comes with Hybrid Zoom technology via which we can get 2x magnification. Another impressive feature of the phone is its battery charging tech. It features a 4000mAh battery under its hood with SuperCharge fast charging support. Huawei promises it can deliver a full day worth of battery life with just 20 minutes of charging and that’s impressive. Check out the complete specifications sheet below.

The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 Limited Edition smartphone comes in Graphite Black color only. As we have already mentioned, it has been priced at €1395 ($1548 / Rs. 1,03,217 approx.). It will be available at the European Porsche Design Stores in the later half of December 2016. The limited edition Mate 9 will also be available at the Porsche Design Stores worldwide, select Huawei retail stores in Asia, Middle East and Europe from January 2017. However, it is sadly not coming to the U.S.
