LG V30 with Snapdragon 835, 6-inch OLED display officially announced

LG V30 has been officially launched at IFA 2017 in Berlin today. The main highlight of the premium flagship phablet is its 6-inch Quad HD+ OLED FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is a bezel-less phone, which is also the “lightest among the smartphones in the 6-inch and over category.” Take a closer look at the specifications of the mobile below.

The LG V30 features a huge 6.0-inch 18:9 OLED FullVision display, which has a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels (Quad HD+), pixel density of 538 PPI. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has a screen-to-body ratio of 81.2%. It is being powered by a Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz along with Adreno 540 GPU. We get both 4GB and 6GB LPDDR4x RAM along with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. The user can expand the memory up to 2TB by adding a microSD card.

The V30 runs on LG UX 6.0+ based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS and will certainly get updated to Android 8.0 Oreo OS in the near future. It is a 4G VoLTE enabled phone, which packs in a fingerprint sensor at the back. The V30 has an all metal and glass body, which is 7.3mm thick and weighs 158 grams. It is also a water and dust proof phone because of its IP68 certification. The phone also comes with MIL-STD 810G certification as it has military grade durability. Other connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), GPS, NFC, USB Type C 2.0 and Bluetooth 5.0 LE. It also has support for 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC, which is powered by ESS Technology’s SABRE ES9218P along with digital filters and sound presets and sound tuning by B&O PLAY.

Now coming to the camera section of the LG V30, we find dual rear cameras – a 16 megapixel primary lens (71-degree) with f/1.6 aperture and another 13 megapixel secondary wide-angle lens (120-degree) with f/1.9 aperture. There is dual-tone LED flash, Laser Auto Focus, PDAF, OIS, EIS and 4K video recording. Talking about the selfie shooter, there is a 5 megapixel lens with f/2.2 aperture and 90-degree wide-angle lens. To power the phone, we get a 3300mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 along with wireless charging feature as well.

The LG V30 will go on sale in Korea from September 21 followed by North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East in Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue, Aurora Black and Lavender Violet colors. We can expect the V30 to hit the Indian market by mid October. It might be an Amazon India exclusive.
