Xiaomi India launches Mi MIX 2 with SD835 SoC, 6GB RAM for Rs. 35999

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 announced in China last month has officially made its way into India today. The Mi MIX 2 designed by world-renowned designer Philippe Starck has been launched in the country today, priced at Rs. 35,999. It will go on sale from October 17 via Flipkart and mi.com in Black color. The bezel-less phone will also go on sale via Mi Home and other offline retail stores from first week of November. Xiaomi will be offering 0% interest EMI scheme across all the platforms. Check out the features and specifications of the phone below.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 rocks a 5.99-inch 18:9 IPS display, that has a DCI-P3 color gamut, resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels (Full HD+), pixel density of 403 PPI and screen-to-body ratio of 93%. The MIX 2 is powered by a Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz from the house of Qualcomm along with Adreno 540 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we get 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of internal memory (UFS 2.1). The Special Edition comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM but it has not been launched in India. The memory cannot be expanded further as it does not have a microSD card slot. The Mi MIX 2 is a Dual SIM (nano) phone and it runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box. It will certainly get updated to Android 8.0 Oreo OS in the near future.

In the camera department, we get a 12 megapixel primary camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, dual-tone LED flash, 4-axis OIS and f/2.0 aperture at the back. It can shoot 4K videos. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel selfie shooter with facial recognition and it can record Full HD videos as well. The Mi MIX 2 features a ceramic body with aluminium frames, that is 7.7mm thick and weighs 185 grams. There is a fingerprint sensor, which is located at the back and can unlock the phone very quickly. We get a sound guided speaker with 50mW high power speaker with sound guided tube for an enhanced audio experience.

The Mi MIX 2 rocks all the modern connectivity features such as 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS, GLONASS, 3G HSPA+, NFC, USB Type-C and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MU-MIMO. Under the hood of this giant phablet, there is a 3400mAh battery (non-removable), which supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It also supports 6 modes, 43 bands and thus is a truly world phone. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack and Xiaomi is bundling a USB Type-C to 3.5mm audio converter.
