Micromax Canvas 1, the latest budget smartphone in the ‘Canvas series’, has been officially launched in India. The smartphone looks very similar to iPhone 7 from outside, so let’s have a look at its interiors.
The Micromax Canvas 1 features a 5.5-inch 2.5D curved glass in-cell IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and brightness of 400 nits. It is being powered by a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with Mali-T720 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we get 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can also be extended up to 64GB by adding a microSD card.
The Canvas 1 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. It is a Dual SIM phone with 4G VoLTE support. Other connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS. The phone is 8.3mm thick, weighs 150 grams, comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio.
In the camera department, there is a 8 megapixel primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, 1.4µm Pixel size and 80-degree wide-angle lens at the back. We get a 5 megapixel front-facing selfie camera with LED flash and 85-degree wide-angle lens on the front. Under the hood, there is a 2500mAh battery but it does not support fast charging.
The Micromax Canvas 1 is priced at Rs. 6,999 and is available from retail stores across the country in Chrome Black and Matte Black colors. Hopefully, it will go on sale via online e-commerce portals such as Amazon India and Flipkart very soon. Customers will also get 100-day replacement warranty on any hardware issue, which is now a part of the 1-year product warranty on Micromax phones.
