ZUK Edge running on Nougat OS with 6GB RAM launched in China

ZUK, a Lenovo company has finally launched the ZUK Edge at an event in China today. It was in the news for a long time and the launch got delayed couple of times as well. It is almost a bezel-less phone as it has a screen-to-body ratio of 86.4% and a very narrow frame of 1.63mm. Lets check out its features and specifications now.

The ZUK Edge comprises of a 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, that comes with a pixel density of 401 PPI. It has a contrast ratio of 1500:1 and a NTSC color gamut of 85%. As we have already mentioned, it has a very narrow bezel and looks very similar to the Xiaomi Mi MIX, although it is almost like a concept phone with a screen-to-body ratio of a whopping 91.3%. In terms of performance, we are getting a Snapdragon 821 processor, options of 4GB or 6GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64GB, which you cannot expand latter since it does not have a microSD card slot. The phone runs on ZUI 2.5 based on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

There is a 13 megapixel rear primary camera along with LED flash, Samsung ISOCELL sensor, f/2.2 aperture, CAF dual-mode focus, PDAF and more. On the front, we get a 8 megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture. It is a Dual SIM (nano) phone with support for Dirac HD sound for Hi-Fi audio. It is made up of metal and glass and it is 7.68mm thick and weighs 160 grams. It boasts of a heart rate sensor at the back and that can also measure blood oxygen levels, just like the ZUK Z2 Pro (one of the best 6GB RAM smartphones). There is a fingerprint sensor hidden under the glass panel below the display and it can unlock the phone in just 0.09 seconds. You can even use it for secure payments via PayPal, Alipay and other services.

Under the networking and connectivity department, we get 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, GLONASS and USB 3.1 Type-C. It rocks a 3100mAh battery under its hood with support for Quick Charge 3.0.

The ZUK Edge comes in two color variants - Ceramic White and Titanium Black. It is priced at 2299 Yuan ($331 / Rs. 22,514 approx.) for the 4GB RAM model and 2499 Yuan ($360 / Rs. 24,469 approx.) for the 6GB RAM variant in China. It can be ordered now but you can only purchase it from next year i.e., January 1, 2017.
