Sony India launches Xperia XZ Premium with 4K HDR display for Rs. 59990

Sony Xperia XZ Premium, the latest flagship from the house of Sony has landed in the Indian smartphone market last week. It is the world’s first smartphone with a 5.5-inch 4K HDR display which comes with Sony’s in-house technologies such as TRILUMINOS Display for mobile, X-Reality for mobile and Dynamic Contrast Enhancer. Lets have a closer look at its other specifications and features along with its pricing below.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium - Smartphone under Rs. 60,000 in India

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium boasts of a 5.5-inch 4K HDR TRILUMINOS display, which has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K), pixel density of 807 PPI and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz along with Adreno 540 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we get 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. The user can expand the storage externally up to 256GB by adding a microSD card. The Xperia XZ Premium is a Dual SIM (nano) phone but we get a hybrid SIM slot. The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS out of the box. The phone is IP65/68 certified and thus it is dust and water resistant. We also get Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the back.

In the camera department, there is a 19 megapixel primary camera with dual LED flash, Exmor RS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Predictive Capture, 5-axis stabilization. It can shoot 4K videos along with 960fps slow-motion videos. On the front, there is a 13 megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 22mm wide-angle lens. It can capture 1080p videos. The Xperia XZ Premium features a unibody metal and glass design, which is 7.9mm thick and weighs 195 grams. There is a fingerprint sensor embedded into its home button. We also get DSEE HX, LDAC and Digital Noise Cancelling for an incredible audio experience.

The Xperia XZ Premium features 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, NFC 3G HSPA+, USB 3.1 Type-C and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MIMO. Under the hood, we get a 3230mAh battery (non-removable) with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 (fast charging) technology, which can charge the phone from 0-60% in 45 minutes.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is priced at Rs. 59,990 in India and will go on sale from June 12 in Deepsea Black and Luminous Chrome colors. It is now available for pre-order via all Sony Center, select retail stores and Amazon India. Customers pre-ordering the smartphone will get a free SRS-XB20 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker worth Rs. 8,990. The company will also provide free Sony LIV subscription for three months worth Rs. 349 and Modern Combat 5 Game Credits (5200). If the price comes down in the near future, we will list it in our best smartphones under 50000 segment.
