HTC One A9s with 3GB RAM, fingerprint sensor goes official at IFA

HTC has officially announced the latest mid-range smartphone, the HTC One A9s in their ‘A series’ at the IFA 2016. It is supposed to be an upgraded variant of the One A9 but it looks like HTC has goofed up. Lets find out the specs and features of the smartphone below.

HTC One A9s Specifications & Features

The HTC One A9s features a 5.0-inch Super LCD display, that comes with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with HTC Sense UI out of the box and hopefully will get updated to Android 7.0 Nougat in the near future. In the processor department, it is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) octa-core chipset, clocked at 2.0 GHz and also has Mali T860MP2 GPU onboard, whereas the A9 was powered by a Snapdragon 617 chipset. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, that can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card.

When it comes to the camera sector, it rocks a 13 megapixel rear primary camera that includes a LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, BSI sensor and more. If you’re interested in the selfie camera, it packs in a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.8 aperture. Both of them can record 1080p videos. The One A9s comes with a fingerprint sensor on the front that has been embedded into its home button. It features HTC BoomSound along with two microphones with noise cancellation. Its dimensions are 146.49 x 71.5 x 7.99 mm, hence it is 7.99 mm thick and weighs 149.8 grams. It has a unibody metal design that is very compact, supports Dual SIM (depending on region) and packs in a 3.5 mm audio jack.

In terms of connectivity, it includes 4G LTE, WiFi a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with GLONASS and NFC. Under the hood, the smartphone rocks a 2,300mAh battery with support for fast charging.

The HTC One A9s will be available in Silver, Gold and Black color variants. The company has not announced its pricing or availability yet. It is very similar to the HTC One A9, which is currently featured in our Best Smartphones under 30000 Rs category.
