Honor India has recently turned two (Honor has completed two years in India) and has big plans this month. We all are familiar with the news that the company is gearing up to launch Honor 8 on October 12 but it isn’t going to be the only device that will see the light of the day. Huawei has already announced their ‘Made in India’ initiative last month. The company will manufacture smartphones in India in partnership with Flex in their Chennai facility. Huawei is planning to make 3 million smartphones by the end of 2017. The first phone from the house of Huawei under their ‘Make in India’ program will be the Honor 5A and it will also be launched on October 12, 2023 alongside the Honor 8.
The Honor 5A in India will come in two variants - one standard variant will be priced around Rs 7,000 and the more powerful variant will be priced around Rs 8,000. According to our source, the standard variant will be powered by the Kirin 620 SoC whereas the other variant will be powered by a faster Snapdragon 617 chipset. However, both of them will have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card.
In terms of other specifications, it will have a 5.5-inch HD display, run on EMUI 4.1 UI based on Marshmallow OS, pack in a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 8 megapixel selfie shooter. It will have a Dual SIM slot along with a dedicated microSD card slot. The Honor 5A will also support 4G VoLTE and pack in a 3100 mAh battery under its hood.
