Honor 6X with 4GB RAM, dual rear cameras launched in India exclusively on Amazon

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has officially launched the Honor 6X, dubbed as the #SwagPhone in India at an event in Delhi yesterday. It is surely one of the best budget, dual camera smartphones of 2017 both in India and around the world. Lets have a look at what Honor is offering with its latest device in the Indian smartphone market.

Honor 6X - One of the best cheap smartphones

Honor 6X, a strong competitor of the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Coolpad Cool 1, features a 5.5-inch IPS display that comes with a pixel density of 403 PPI and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). It comes in two variants - a 3GB RAM model with 32GB storage and another 4GB RAM model with 64GB storage. Both of them are powered by a Kirin 655 octa-core 16nm 64-bit processor clocked at 2.1GHz along with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. You can also increase the storage further up to 128GB by inserting a microSD card. In terms of software, we are getting EMUI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS but it will soon get updated to EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS, Q2 of 2017 to be precise. EMUI is now available in 14 local languages (Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Assamese, and Maithili & Nepali) and the Honor 6X also comes with a SOS button, which will act as an emergency alarm and send SMS to preset numbers and provide location information as well.

It is a Dual SIM phone but rocks a hybrid slot. In the camera department, there is a 8 megapixel selfie shooter on the front but we are getting two lenses at the back - a standard 12 megapixel primary camera along with a secondary 2 megapixel shooter for capturing depth of field and background blur (bokeh effect). It has a LED flash, PDAF, 6P lens, 1.35µm pixel size and a wide aperture ranging from f/.095 to f/16. There is a fingerprint sensor embedded into the back side of the metal body, which can unlock the phone in just 0.3 seconds. It is 8.2mm thick and weighs 162 grams.

In the battery department, we are getting a 3340mAh battery with support for fast charging. According to Honor, it will provide up to 2.15 days of battery life with normal usage and up to 1.54 days with heavy usage. It is a 4G VoLTE supported phone that also features 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, USB OTG and GPS.

The Honor 6X comes in three color variants - Silver, Gold and Gray. The 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM model priced at Rs. 12,999 will be sold exclusively via Amazon starting from February 2, 2017. You can register for the flash sale here. The 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant has been priced at Rs. 15,999 and it should also be available across the Indian retail market.
