Honor V9 launched in China with dual 12 megapixel rear cameras

Huaweiā€™s sister brand Honor has launched its latest flagship phablet in China. It is known as the Honor V9. The USP of this high-end phone is its dual rear cameras (like Honor 8) along with the 5.7-inch Quad HD display. The phone comes in Platinum Hold, Aurora Blue, Midnight Black and Flame Red colors. There are three variants according to its RAM and storage - 4GB RAM with 64GB ROM is priced at 2599 Yuan ($378 /Rs. 25,176 approx.), 6GB RAM with 64GB ROM costs 2999 YuanĀ ($436 /Rs. 29,051 approx.), while the 6GB RAM with 128GB ROM has been priced at 3499 Yuan ($509 /Rs. 33,894 approx.).

The Honor V9 is powered by Huaweiā€™s in-house Kirin 960 octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz with Mali G71 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we get two primaryĀ combinations - 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM with 64GB/128GB internal storage. Out of the box, the phone runs on EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. You can also extend the storage up to 128GB by adding a microSD card externally.

The Honor V9 features a 5.7-inch Quad HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display, that has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back that also supports Huawei Pay besides unlocking the phone. We get an Infrared sensor on the front, a dedicated key on the right for intelligent voice actions. The V9 is completely made up of metal, that is just 6.97mm thick and weighs 184 grams. It supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, GPS and USB Type-C port.

In the camera section, as we have already mentioned above, the Honor V9 sports two 12 megapixel sensors at the back along with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and Laser AF. There is a 8 megapixel selfie cameras as well. Under the hood, there is a 4000mAh battery to power the phone. It also supports fast charging.

The Honor V9 will go on sale in China starting from February 28, 2017. There is no information about its global launch yet but if it gets launched in India, it would get featured in our best smartphones under 40000 category for sure.
