Xiaomi popularly known as ‘Apple of China’ has launched its latest flagship smartphone named the Xiaomi Mi 6. It is a perfect combination of its predecessors, the Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus along with improved hardware. However, Xiaomi has decided to drop the 3.5mm audio jack and has jumped on the USB Type-C audio bandwagon. The Mi 6 will go on sale in China starting from April 28 in Black, Blue, White and Silver Edition (reflective mirror finish Stainless steel frame) colors. The smartphone is priced at 2499 Yuan ($363 / Rs. 23,498 approx.) for the 64GB storage variant, 2899 Yuan ($421 / Rs. 27,255 approx.) for the 128GB storage model while the 128GB ROM model with ceramic body and 18K gold finish around the camera costs 2999 Yuan ($436 / Rs. 28,191 approx.).

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is being powered by 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz clocked at Adreno 540 GPU. It has dual-tone LED flash, 4-axis OIS and the second one is a 52mm portrait lens for capturing images with background blur effect. On the front, we get a 8 megapixel selfie camera. The primary cameras can shoot 4K videos whereas the selfie camera gets 1080p recording. The Mi 6 support Dual SIM (nano), 4G LTE and other connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MU-MIMO, 3G HSPA+, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and NFC.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a under-glass fingerprint sensor, which is located under the home button and also has an Infrared sensor. The body of the smartphone is covered by a stainless steel frame with 3D curved glass on four sides. It is 7.45mm thick and weighs 182 grams. The Mi 6 is also water splash resistant as well but has not got any certification. Under the hood, it packs in a 3350mAh battery (non-removable) with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 (18W) support.

The Mi 6 does not feature a ground breaking design like the Samsung Galaxy S8 or the LG G6. Xiaomi may be saving it for the upcoming Mi6 Pro. Stay tuned for more information on the same.
