Meizu has launched a new budget smartphone at an event in China yesterday. It has been named as the Meizu M5 and surprisingly it comes with a polycarbonate body. It is basically a slightly bigger version of the Meizu m3s in a polycarbonate shell. The Meizu m3s was even recently launched in India. There is a 13 megapixel primary camera at the back along with a 5 megapixel selfie camera at the front. At the heart, the M5 has a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz along with Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we are given options of both 2GB RAM with 16GB ROM and 3GB RAM with 32GB ROM, where the storage is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone runs on Flyme OS 5.5 based on Yun OS 5.1. It is a dual SIM phone but comes with a hybrid slot, supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and more. There is a mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor onboard that can unlock the device in just 0.2 seconds. It is located below the display and has been embedded into the home button. Under its hood, there is a 3070mAh battery which does not support fast charging.
