HTC India launches U11 flagship smartphone with Squeeze feature for Rs. 51990

HTC has launched its latest flagship smartphone in India today. We are talking about the HTC U11, that was officially unveiled at an event in China last month. It is the best HTC flagship phone ever made and it boasts of a new squeeze interaction.

Basically, the HTC U11 comes with an Edge Sensor, which will let the user launch the camera app, send text messages, open email or launch any other application of their choice just by squeezing the phone. There are advanced options such as “short squeeze” and “squeeze and hold” for activating advanced touch options. The U11 is made up of a liquid glass surface using Optical Spectrum Hybrid Deposition. Take a closer look at its specifications and features below.

The HTC U11 packs in a 5.5-inch Super LCD 5 3D glass display, which has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (Quad HD) and a pixel density of 534 PPI. The panel gets protection via Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Out of the box, the phone runs on HTC Sense UI based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. We get a lot of smart AI including HTC Sense Companion, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. It is being powered by a 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor with Adreno 540 GPU. There is 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage but the user can expand it externally up to 2TB by inserting a microSD card.

The HTC U11 rocks a 12 megapixel primary rear camera with dual LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, UltraSpeed Auto Focus, multi-axis Optical Stabilization (OIS). The rear camera can shoot 4K videos with 3D Audio, Hi-Res stereo recording and Acoustic Focus. There is a 16 megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture for clicking selfies and making video calls. We also get a fingerprint sensor embedded into its home button, that can unlock the phone in just 0.1 seconds. The 3.5mm audio jack gets the axe and instead come with USB-C port for audio. We get HTC USonic with Active Noise Cancellation, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition and the user can also record 3D Audio using 4 microphones. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano), weighs 169 grams and is 7.9mm thick.

The HTC U11 packs in a 3000mAh battery (non-removable) under its hood with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. In the connectivity department, it includes 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), NFC, GPS/GLONASS and USB 3.1 Type-C.

The HTC U11 is priced at Rs. 51,990 in India and will go on sale across the country in the last week of June in Amazing Silver and Brilliant Black colors. It will be available via both offline and online (Amazon India) channels. Customers can pre-order the device on HTC e-Store from June 17 (tomorrow) to get a free HTC flip-cover worth Rs. 1,999.
