Samsung India has launched the Galaxy A7 2017 edition in the country, along with the Galaxy A5. The phablet was globally announced back in January. Just like its predecessor, it is also made up of metal and 3D glass. Hence, it looks as premium as any Samsung flagship devices. The Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 is priced at Rs. 33,490 in India and will be available from March 15 in Gold Sand and Black Sky colors. According to the Senior Vice President of Samsung India, the company has gathered consumers’ feedback from previous models and thus have taken the unique design and features approach to provide a premium experience to the users.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 rocks a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED always-on display, which has a pixel density of 386 PPI and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The phablet is being powered by an Exynos 7880 processor clocked at 1.9GHz along with Mali-T830 GPU. It has 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage but the user can extend it up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card.
Out of the box, the Galaxy A7 runs on TouchWiz UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It should receive the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update in the future but we do not know the exact time period. The phone supports Dual SIM (nano), 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, 3G HSPA+ and USB Type-C. The A7 packs in a 3600mAh battery with adaptive fast charging.
In the camera department of the Galaxy A7, we get a 16 megapixel primary camera with LED flash at the back along with another 16 megapixel selfie camera on the front. Both of them have an aperture of f/1.9 and can record Full HD videos. It boasts of a fingerprint sensor that is embedded in the home button. The fingerprint sensor will also support Samsung Pay, which will be launching in India very soon. Samsung users with compatible phones can register now for early access. The Galaxy A7 is IP68 certified (water and dust proof), comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. In terms of thickness, it is 7.9mm thick.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 edition is priced at Rs. 33,490 and we might include it in our best smartphones under 40000 after it goes on sale from March 15, 2017.
