Nokia 7 with Snapdragon 630 processor, 6GB RAM launched in China

After announcing the flagship Nokia Android phone back in August, HMD Global is back with another device. The Nokia 7, a mid-ranged smartphone has been announced in China. It is priced at 2499 Yuan ($377 / Rs. 24,505 approx.) for the 4GB RAM variant while the 6GB RAM model costs 2499 Yuan ($407 / Rs. 26,467 approx.). It can now be pre-ordered on JD.com, Suning and Tmall in China and will go on sale from October 24 in Matt White and Gloss Black colors. Take a closer look at its specifications and features below.

The Nokia 7 rocks a 5.2-inch 25D curved glass IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz along with Adreno 508 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we get 4GB/6GB LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB ROM (eMMC 5.1), which can also be extended up to 128GB by adding a microSD card. It is made up of 7000 series aluminium chassis with diamond cut bevelled edges along with Corning Glass on the back as well.

In the camera department, the Nokia 7 boasts of a 16 megapixel primary rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens, dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, ZEISS optics. We get a 5 megapixel front-facing selfie camera with 84-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. It comes with Dual-Sight technology called ‘Bothie’, which uses both front and back cameras simultaneously to fuse both images together into one photo or video, which was first introduced with the Nokia 8. We also get a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The Nokia 7 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box and will also get upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo OS in the near future. It is a Dual SIM (nano) phone but comes with a hybrid slot. The phone has 4G VoLTE support along with 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), USB Type-C and GPS/GLONASS. Under the hood, there is a 3000mAh battery (non-removable) with support for fast charging (9V/2A). There are dual microphones, Nokia OZO Audio and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
