Motorola India has officially launched its latest mid-ranged modular smartphone named Moto Z2 Play in the country today. It is priced at Rs. 27,999 in India and will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart from June 15. Although, customers can pre-order the phone till June 14 to get exciting offers. Some of the Moto Mods that will be compatible with the Z2 Play are Moto TurboPower PackMod, Moto Style Shell with Wireless Charging, JBL SoundBoost 2 and Moto GamePad. These will go on sale this summer and the old Moto Mods will also be compatible with this phone.
The Moto Z2 Play boasts of a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, which has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), pixel density of 401 PPI and screen-to-body ratio of 70.1%. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is being powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz along with Adreno 506 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we get 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. The user can expand the storage externally up to 2TB by adding a microSD card. The Z2 Play is a Dual SIM (nano) phone and we get a dedicated microSD card slot. The phablet runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS.
In the camera department, there is a 12 megapixel primary camera with Dual-Pixel Auto Focus, Laser Auto Focus and f/1.7 aperture at the back. It can shoot 4K videos. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture. Both the cameras have dual-tone LED flash. The Z2 Play features an aluminium unibody design, which is 5.99mm thick and weighs 145 grams. There is a fingerprint sensor, which is located below the display and can unlock the phone very quickly. The phone has water-repellent nano-coating for water splash proof. We also get 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio.
The Moto Z2 Play rocks all the modern connectivity features such as 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC, 3G HSPA+, USB 3.1 Type-C and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band). Under the hood, there is a massive 3000mAh battery (non-removable), which supports Turbo Charging. A quick 20 minutes charge will fill up 50% of the battery.
