Moto E4 Plus and E4 running on Android 7.1 Nougat OS go official

Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto E4 Plus and E4 smartphones today. These are the latest budget smartphones in the ‘E series’, which are now made up of metal to offer a premium look. They also run on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat OS out of the box, as expected from Moto smartphones. The E4 Plus is priced at $179.99 (Rs. 11,606 approx.) / €199 and will be available in Oxford Blue, Blush Gold and Iron Gray colors, while the E4 costs $129.99 (Rs. 8,382 approx.) / €149 and will come in Licorice Black and Find Gold variants. The latter will be an Amazon Prime exclusive phone and will also be available on Verizon in USA.

Moto E4 Plus - Best Smartphone under Rs. 12,000 in India

Starting off with the display section, the Moto E4 Plus features a 5.5-inch IPS display whereas the E4 comes with a 5-inch IPS display. Both of them have a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and are covered with 2.5D curved glass. The E4 Plus has a pixel density of 267 PPI while the E4 has 294 PPI. Both of them are powered by Qualcomm processors but they are different. The elder brother is powered by Snapdragon 427 chipset while the smaller brother gets powered by Snapdragon 425 processor. Both of them have Adreno 308 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM but the E4 Plus will also be available with 32GB ROM. The internal memory can be expanded further by adding a microSD card.

The Moto E4 Plus rocks a 13 megapixel primary camera whereas the E4 has a 8 megapixel camera at the back. However, both of them come with a 5 megapixel selfie camera on the front. These will be available in both Single and Dual SIM variants depending on region. They are also resistant against water splashes as they have water-repellent nano-coating, like most Moto smartphones. The Moto E4 Plus is 9.55mm thick and weighs 181 grams whereas the E4 is 9.3mm thick and weighs 150 grams.

In the connectivity department, both of them include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1, NFC (optional), 3G HSPA+ and GPS. In the battery section, the E4 Plus takes away the cake with a massive 5000mAh battery while the E4 comes with a 2800mAh battery under its hood. The E4 Plus’ battery is non-removable but the E4’s battery can be removed. Both of them support rapid charging (5/10W).

Lenovo-owned Motorola has not announced their availability details yet but if they are launched in India, the Moto E4 will be priced under Rs. 9,000 and the Moto E4 Plus will be priced under Rs. 12,000. So, we will put them in our best smartphones under 9000 and best smartphones under 12000 lists, respectively.
