Lenovo K8 Note with stock Android 7.1 OS, dual cameras launched in India

Lenovo India has officially launched the K8 Note, the latest smartphone in the ‘Note series’ at an event in New Delhi yesterday. The K8 Note is the first smartphone from the house of Lenovo to run on stock Android as the company has shelved their ‘Vibe UI’ custom ROM. Take a look at the features and specifications of the phone below.

The Lenovo K8 Note features a 5.5-inch 2.5D curved glass IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), pixel density of 401 PPI, 450 nits of brightness and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is being powered by a MediaTek Helio X23 deca-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz along with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we get both options of 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage, which can also be extended up to 128GB by adding a microSD card. The K8 Note is water splash resistant like most Moto phones as it has P2i nano coating.

In the camera department, the K8 Note boasts of a dual camera setup – a 13 megapixel primary camera with PureCel Plus OV13855 sensor, dual-tone LED flash and a 5 megapixel secondary camera with S5K5E2 sensor. As usual, the second lens is for capturing depth information for background blur (bokeh) effect. We get a 13 megapixel front-facing selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens and LED flash. Under the hood, there is a 4000mAh battery (non-removable) with Turbo Charging (15W fast charger). There is a fingerprint sensor located at the back and it comes with TheaterMax for VR and Dolby Atmos technologies, like most other Lenovo phones.

The Lenovo K8 Note runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box. It is a Dual SIM phone and comes with a dedicated microSD card slot. The K8 Note has 4G VoLTE support along with 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) and GPS. The phone is 8.5mm thick, weighs 180 grams and is made up of metal. There is a dedicated hardware Music button for playing music and the button can also be customized to launch any other app.

The Lenovo K8 Note is priced at Rs. 12,999 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB ROM and Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB ROM variant. It will go on sale exclusively on Amazon India from August 18 at 12 PM in Venom Black and Fine Gold colors. As expected, there will be several launch offers including:
