ASUS India launches ZenFone AR with Daydream and Tango support

ASUS ZenFone AR, the world’s first 8GB RAM phone, has been officially announced in India. It is also the world’s first smartphone to be completely compatible with both Tango AR and Daydream VR platforms. This is made possible by a three camera setup - a 23 megapixel primary camera along with a motion tracking camera and a depth sensing camera. ASUS ZenFone AR - First 8GB RAM smartphone in the world

The ASUS ZenFone AR boasts of a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, which has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (Quad HD), pixel density of 515 PPI and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The phone is being powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz along with Adreno 530 GPU. For multitasking and storage, we get 8GB RAM (LPDDR4) and 128GB internal memory (UFS 2.0). The user can expand the storage externally up to 2TB by adding a microSD card. The ZenFone AR is a Dual SIM (nano) phone but it comes with a hybrid slot. The phone runs on Zen UI 3.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

In the camera department, we get a 23 megapixel primary rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX318 sensor, 4-axis OIS, 3-axis EIS, TriTech System (PDAF, Laser and Subject tracking AF), 6P Largan lens and f/2.0 aperture. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide-angle lens. The ZenFone AR comes with an “immersive” five-magnet mono speaker, which supports ASUS SonicMaster 3.0, DTS virtual 7.1 surround sound High-Res Audio, standard and NXP Smart AMP technology. There is a fingerprint sensor embedded into its home button, which can unlock the phone even if the fingers are wet. It is 4.6~8.95mm thick and weighs 170 grams.

The ZenFone AR includes 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, 3G HSPA+, USB Type-C and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MIMO. Under the hood of this phone, there is a 3300mAh battery (non-removable) with support for Quick Charge 3.0, which promises to charge from 0-60% in 39 minutes.

The ASUS ZenFone AR is priced at Rs. 49,999 and is exclusively available on Flipkart in Black color with leather back finish.
