ASUS launches ZenFone 3S Max with Nougat OS in India for Rs 14999

ASUS India has launched another smartphone in the ‘ZenFone 3 series’ known as the ASUS ZenFone 3S Max. It is an updated variant of the ZenFone 3 Max smartphones, which were launched back in November last year. The main selling point of this variant is that it features a massive 5000mAh battery under the hood along with Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The company promises a battery life of up to 3 days.

Starting with the display, the ASUS ZenFone 3S Max boasts of a 5.2-inch IPS 2.5D curved glass display, which comes with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD). It has a pixel density of 282 PPI and a screen-to-body ratio of 75%. Under the hood of the phone, it is being powered by a MediaTek MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 3GB of RAM. For graphics performance and storage, there is Mali-T860 GPU and 32GB of internal memory. However, you can push it up to a whopping 2TB externally by adding a microSD card. As we have already mentioned, it runs on ZenUI 3.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

In the camera department, ASUS is providing us with a 13 megapixel primary camera at the back. It has dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and you can obviously record Full HD 1080p videos. For clicking selfies and making video calls, we get a 8 megapixel secondary shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 85-degree wide-angle lens. It is a Dual SIM phone but comes with a hybrid slot (micro + nano / microSD card). The ZenFone 3S Max has a metal body, which is 8.5mm thick and weighs 175 grams. There is a 3.5mm audio jack, fingerprint sensor located at the front that can unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds and ICEpower enhanced 5-magnet speakers.

Coming back to the battery section again, the phone is being powered by a 5000mAh battery which is non-removable. According to ASUS, you’ll get a standby time on 4G of up to 34 days, talk time of 28 hours on 3G, web browsing of 25 hours on WiFi and video playback of 18 hours continuously. Also, you can charge other smartphones as it acts like a powerbank due to reverse charging support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G HSPA+.

The ASUS ZenFone 3S Max is priced at Rs. 14,999 and is now available in India in Gold and Black colors via both online and offline retailers.
